Meridian, Washington is near of Forks, Washington where it faces the Pacific Ocean. Facing the south of Forks, about 4 hours away to be exact. The beaches are cold during the winter but the brave solders that are known, as the local surfers will throw themselves towards it. It is not that far of a drive (maybe 10 hours, 14- depending) of Seattle, Washington but it’s closer to Tacoma.
It’s an upcoming town, known for it’s fresh fishing; it’s granola like way of living. Although there is a Starbucks, a Wal-mart is kind of hard to find. Most people find it the perfect place to raise kids.
But don’t think it’s exactly ‘small town’. Meridian is known for it’s posh record shops (locally known Pet Sounds which has been around for years) and the up and coming cleverly known ‘The Record Shop’. Jitterbug the local coffee shop that rivals Starbucks- for if you’re in Washington, there has to be one. It holds a variety of shops, mostly locally owned. The community as a whole stands firm and very apart of Washington. But as any up and coming town it’s had a boom of youngsters, either moving across the country to discover the place or born and rose near or in Meridian.
Some reasons for Washington not having state taxes taken out of checks, for better education system and public health-care. Other can be because it accepts everyone or any background or culture.
It’s one of those places that if you wanted to reinvent yourself or discover who you are, it’s the place to come.

He couldn't help but chuckle as he picked up a Pomagranate Lemonade and twisted the cap off. "Well Gen, I've known you for slightly more than a day. Certain things about you...I just know." He took a weak sip from his bottle. "Drama? Nah . . . I think I'm single 'cause I'm an idiot." Wade shrugged and finally caught up with Gen in the amount missing from his bottle. He smiled as he looked over at Gen, seemingly back to her normal self. Or at least close to it. "That and I don't want a gold digger." He smirked as he laid down, his head on the bed of the truck as he looked up at the star filled sky. "Oh, and I have to find somebody who can put up with me. I think that's the real kicker."

"Geez," she laughed. "No wonder you're single. That girl does not exist." She teased. "I mean really who could ever put up with you." He knew she was kidding and meant no insult to him at all. "I mean with those neanderthal looks of yours be happy your parents are loaded so that girls will at least notice you."
In truth he knew Gen thought he was attractive. She was attracted to him no but that didn't mean she didn't notice other girls looking at him. That she didn't notice how nice his smile was when he wasn't being an asshole. How his eyes had this nice warmness to them. Any girl who didn't realize Wade was good looking was either blind or so into girls they find all men ugly.
Wade's problem was he didn't let people see him. Asshole Wade was not a put on it really was part of his personality but there was another side to him. A side that was sweet and caring. That would cut of his arm to help out those important to him. It took a lot to see have Wade let you in to see that side of him though the Baptiste girls have known it since they were children.
"You should go out with Gwen." It was completely random, completely out of the blue but it was a thought that had been there in the back of her mind for a while.

At the neanderthal comment, Wade shot up and started sniffing the air, gave a few grunts and then turned to Gen with a primative look. "Woman?" He then grabbed Gen's pink hair and bent down down, sniffing her hair and neck, but making sure not to hurt her in any manner before triumphantly declaring, "WOMAN!"
Thank heavens he had been lauging at his own stupid antics and already had the Mike's almost to his lips when Gen made that last comment. He was able to kinda snort at the idea while the cool liquid passed his lips, seemingly calm. His heart however was pounding inside his chest. And if this had happened during the day, Gen would have noticed the change in his pupils.
{Beginning of Wade's inner thoughts during the panic attack, complete with more Wade than you would ever possibly want}
"Come on guys! Help me out!" "With what?" "Gen just said that I should go out with Gwen!" "So?" "'So?' So how the hell do I respond?" "Fuck her!" "Shut up!" "Shut up." "Go with it. You want her. Don't you?" "Fuck 'er!" "Shut up!" "Dude...easy there." "Umm..yeah. At least...yeah I think so. But is she serious? Does Gwen like me?" "The question is, 'Does she not like you?' See, if she doesn't like you, then there is no chance. As long as she doesn't not like you, then there is a chance." "Huh?" "Huh?" "Huh?" "Huh?" "Ugh...think of it like baseball. As long as you are up to bat, there is a chance to get on base. But if you're not up to bat, there's no chance to get on base." "To fuck 'er!" "Quiet you!" "Oh...I think I get it." "So what is the problem? You got Gen right there. Do some sleuthing." "In her bra!" "WHAT?!" "Come again? "Well, you got Gen laying in the back of your truck. She's drinking alcohol. It's a stary night. I mean we are talking about boinking Gen right? "Way off. What head are you thinking with? Wait...never mind." "Damn right." "Hmmmahnahwha?" "Gwen. We are talking about Gwen." "And? They are twins after all. Get practice in while you can." "Duuuuuuuuuuude! That's Gen! I mean . . . it's Gen!" "You paused there." "He's got you on that one. You did pause." "Don't read into that! I just didn't know what to say." "Mmmhmm." "Just be quiet." "So, getting back on topic. What's the hang up?" "Audrey. What about her? If you choose, one must be left behind. None of this two timing crap. Which friendship are you willing to possibly have destroyed by a failed relationship? And which friendship are you willing to keep only to lose your chance for a future relationship?" "Gahhhaa..hawooo." "Dang man." "Impressive." "That was deep." "Yeah...deep in all three." "Dude!" "Just saying that would be awsome to get all three." ".........." "You didn't say it wouldn't be!" "Hit him." "Ouch!" "Thanks." "So..." "Yes, task at hand." "What do I do?" "Only you can make that call. And in high school, somebody will probably get hurt. And it will probably be a messy split. Your call buddy." "Right...thanks everybody." "Even me?" "Would you just shut up?!"
{We now return you to your regular drunk teen drama...or at least teen chatter}
Once he swallowed that mouthful, Wade looked back down at Gen, his brows furrowed. "What?"

"What, what?" she asked looking over at him with a shrug. "It isn't like she's ugly. You'd be lucky to date my sister so don't you what me like that," she teased completely unaware of the little episode that played out in her brain. "I mean next to me you really couldn't do any better." She bumped again him laughing. "Unless you have someone else in mind." She arched her brow watching him. "Ooo you do... Who is she?"

Wade could have sworn that he heard a window or five shattering as Gen didn't just hit the nail on the head with a hammer. Nor a mallet or sledge hammer. No. Gen used a freaking anvil. There's no way to get that nail back. With each bump Gen gave, a nervous "Shut-The-Hell-Up-Gen!" laugh was elicited from the Yakole. Had he been in a tv show, surely the camera would have been zooming in while spinning around him as time stood still. Or, Wade would simply be sitting there as everything around him faded to black with Gen's words echoing around him in the nothingness, taunting him mercilessly.
However, Wade had no such luxury. Gen had called him out completely. The widened eyes and slightly drained color from his face confirmed it for Gen. "Where the fuck's my wing man?!?!?!?!" . . . "She's sitting next to you dude." . . . "Fuuuuuuck!"
By now, the most unnerving second of his life had passed since Gen vocalized her last word. His jaw had actually dropped open slightly...and nothing came out. The Yakole had been left almost completely defenseless. His eyes twiched back and forth as his brain franticly search for something. Five seconds now passed. Anything! Seven seconds now passed. And his stopped and he lokked at Gen, his voice feeble and somewhat childish. "I'm not telling."

For a moment she thought he might confess his love for his sister, for a moment she was nervous. Not that she would mind him and Gwen together just that if it didn't work out she would have to chose and between her sister and Wade, Gwen would have to win. His reply however turned her into an excited child. "Are you kidding me? You aren't going to tell me? Not a word, Not an initial. Nothing." her face scrunched up. "You suck man.. You really suck!"

He grinned. Not a word as to who it was. Though he was actually suprised that she didn't have an idea. Sometimes, it was good to have a steadfast and unyielding resolve about things. Wade knew that if he fessed up about one to Gen, it would all come spilling out. And well, he's tried really hard to keep that fro happening. But then, Wade cleared his throat and moved slightly closer to Gen, once more casting a roguish smile to her, "Only women...and exceedingly well from what I've been told."

She rolled her eyes and punched him in the arm. "You're a loser," she laughed reaching back into the cooler for another drink. "That's fine don't tell me. Be all mysterious. I see how it is. It's ok.. Really... You don't trust me with the truth." She shrugged. She was completely teasing him. "Really it doesn't hurt. I mean it isn't like I'm your best friend or anything."

He laughed, still a bit nervous. He was rather certain that she wasn't serious, so he thought he would explain the "what?" a bit more to her. "Well...you just told me you want me to boink your sister. Now...now follow the logic train here babe. Your sister is your twin. As such, she is like your body double. And naturally, Gwen would tell you what I'm like. Now, since you would then have the knowledge of what I'm like with your sister, you can easily imagine what I would be like with you. And personally, I think that is just a bit wrong...since you are with Ed and all."
While Wade was rather certain he had stepped over the line with that one, he didn't know if he had set off the proximity flares also. He finished the rest of his girlie drink and smiled back at Gen. "And well...you know him. HER! You know her. So I don't want you to feel weird around the two of us. I can be my own ass."
But really all Gen needed to do was get a couple more drinks in him, and he would let it out. Maybe even without any more provocation.

"Fine fine fine," she smiled. She leaned back looking up at the stairs. She wouldn't push him anymore. If he didn't want to tell then he didn't have to. Subject considered dropped. She was quiet for a long moment before she finally spoke. "He'll call, right Wade? I mean I just need to give him time, then he'll call." She kept her eyes locked to the night skies.
