WELCOME
Welcome to Meridian!

Meridian, Washington is near of Forks, Washington where it faces the Pacific Ocean. Facing the south of Forks, about 4 hours away to be exact. The beaches are cold during the winter but the brave solders that are known, as the local surfers will throw themselves towards it. It is not that far of a drive (maybe 10 hours, 14- depending) of Seattle, Washington but it’s closer to Tacoma.

It’s an upcoming town, known for it’s fresh fishing; it’s granola like way of living. Although there is a Starbucks, a Wal-mart is kind of hard to find. Most people find it the perfect place to raise kids.

But don’t think it’s exactly ‘small town’. Meridian is known for it’s posh record shops (locally known Pet Sounds which has been around for years) and the up and coming cleverly known ‘The Record Shop’. Jitterbug the local coffee shop that rivals Starbucks- for if you’re in Washington, there has to be one. It holds a variety of shops, mostly locally owned. The community as a whole stands firm and very apart of Washington. But as any up and coming town it’s had a boom of youngsters, either moving across the country to discover the place or born and rose near or in Meridian.

Some reasons for Washington not having state taxes taken out of checks, for better education system and public health-care. Other can be because it accepts everyone or any background or culture.
It’s one of those places that if you wanted to reinvent yourself or discover who you are, it’s the place to come.

"Thank you for snapping out of that one. I mean who says Homecoming Queen can't have pink and black hair? And mom isn't going to make you dye your hair like mine or normal. Don't worry about that one."

She furrowed her brow. "Or should I just ask him?"

Gwen ran a hand through her hair and smiled. The idea of Ed asking Jude hadn't even entered Ed's brain, Gwen knew that. She just raised a brow and didn't want to give Ed away for she knew he would just kill her.

"I'm sure he would go with you. I would ask him though after what he just saw here you know. He's probably thinking your going to want to go with someone else and not ask if i know Ed and he'll just ask Jude. I can keep him from asking her or even thinking about it if you want me too?"

(mainly because we started talking about Jude and I forgot she was standing there). She caught up to them nearly out of breath because she was lugging her stuffed backpack with her. "Ed..." she fell into step beside them and leaned forward some giving Jude a smile. "Ed can I talk to you alone a minute."

Jude arched her brow. "Guess that's my que to leave..." she gave them a wave and took of before anyone could stop her.

Gen smiled suddenly nervous. She had never asked anyone out before and yes Ed was a boy so he counted. "Um yea so this homecoming thing.. I was thinking..." She couldn't even say it.

She instantly threw her arms around his neck and pressed against him. She felt relief and an odd flutter of butterflies in her stomach. She left up on her tiptoes so she could whisper close to his ear. "Thank you Eddie." she softly kissed his cheek. "I think I might actually survive this with your help." She didn't pull away right away she just sort of stayed there not ready to move even if it did start to get awkward.

"I'm sorry I freaked out. I'm sorry if I got too girlie on you back there. I just..." her voice was soft. She was always the happy one always together and trying to make everyone laugh. This was a side of Gen she only let out on rare occasions and usually only to Ed. "Thank you. You are the best friend a girl could ever have." Something in her mind told her there was more to it than that though but she wouldn't let herself say it.
